Audio FilesHere you will find links to several audio files I have created for use in immersive installations as well as stand alone experiments in stereophonics and loops. The majority of the the work is generated from feild recordings that I have collected. I have indicated all cases where a sample has been utilized. Seaworthy Vessel
7 as 1 These files were all created indepenently from one another, though many share sources which creates a cohesion to the group as one unit. This link will take you to the entire suite melded into one track, as used in the Challenging Sounds installation.. Below are the individual descriptions with links to the individual files. in + out The source for this track is a recording I made by swing a microphone in circles while walking past a carpet cleaning van. This is a source used in several pieces. Here it is broken down to one of its simplect forms. The focus here is on how the sound moves from right to left and back. oodles of giggles This track utilizes field recordings I have made of friends laughing, birds singing and a toddler's joyful vocalizations. Looped and layered this peice conveys a relaxing feeling. machinebeats one Once again utilzing the carpet cleaning van sample, here I have more heavily altered and layered the sounds to create a hypnotic rhythm that floats in a circular motion. tbeat room 2 room This is a straight up field recording I made at a party. isotope To create this piece I played a record at varying speeds and then proceeded to further mangle it in the computer. The result is something that is so far the original that I am reluctant to reveal the source. Anyone who guesses the source will recieve a prize. giggles over easy A reworking of some of the previous samples, this time with the carpet cleaning van and the laughter on the same track. nowthatssumfuqedupshitman This track was created using several field recordings and a tabla beat sampled from Karsh Kale. This is an epic track that evolves from underworld workshop to rhythmic sounds with a funny guy or two thrown in at the end just to keep you on your toes.
